FAQ – Extension of Stay

Applications for extension of stay may be submitted online.  Your sponsor or authorised representative in Hong Kong may also submit an application to the address below by post or drop-in boxes.

NB: The ID92 form (ID92) use for the transitional arrangement is ONLY APPLICABLE to applicants previously approved to return to Hong Kong under the old temporary measure.

Applicants should follow the prevailing procedures for applications for extension of stay.  They must use relevant application forms with required supporting documents. Check out the official website for details :

Applicants must continue to meet the eligibility criteria required by relevant immigration policy / scheme under which they were admitted. Besides, the relevant circumstances of an applicant must remain unchanged.

NB: See also answer to Question 1 above. For applications submitted by post or through drop-in-boxes, form ID 967 should be used for the Capital Investment Entrant Scheme while ID 91 should be used for all others.

An approved application will take effect immediately upon payment of relevant fee and collection of an “e-Visa”. The link for online payment will be provided in the result notification.  They can then download or print the “e-Visa” for extension.
