The HKSAR government released The Chief Executive’s 2023 Policy Address in the late October, which includes the extension of the list of eligible countries in Hong Kong’s visa policy

To deal with the problem of labour shortages in different industries, the HKSAR government decided to implement an extension of the list of eligible countries in Hong Kong’s visa policy. Moreover, this includes the relaxation of entries for Vietnamese, Laotian, and Nepalese talents.
2. Details of the extension
2.1. The extension for Vietnamese
Starting October 25, 2023, the Hong Kong Government has relaxed the visa policy for Vietnamese talents. Alternatively, the policy also includes the criteria for Vietnamese applying for multiple-entry visas for business and travel.
2.2. The extension for Laotian and Nepalese
In addition, the government has relaxed the visa policy for Laotian and Nepalese talents. This includes employment, training, and study in University Grants Committee-funded institutions in Hong Kong. (SB)
